Growing Social Emotional Competencies

What our children feel about themselves and their potential as learners matters as much (if not more) than the opportunities they have.

We design social and emotional learning (SEL) opportunities to help build up our children’s self-awareness and interpersonal skills – competencies that are essential to one’s personal and social wellbeing. Guided by the CASEL and RULER frameworks, we teach children that all emotions are accepted through storytelling and experiential learning.

Creating Positive Interactions

We make learning relational, by hearing our children's concerns and capitalising on their interests and strengths to boost their confidence and motivate them to learn. We recognise that how we as volunteers - direct child-serving persons - can affect a child's psychosocial development.

Altogether, we align in child-centric and relational practices to be positive role models for our children.
