SEL Boardgame Workshop

32 Heartgrove Lane emerged from a simple question:

"How can we make conversations about feelings feel safe, natural, and engaging?"

Our board game creates a safe space for emotional conversations. Instead of asking children to talk directly about difficult feelings, we invite them to play, imagine, and explore everyday situations through the lives of the Heartgrove townsfolk. As children, parents, and educators play together, they experience how different emotional reactions shape relationships, choices, and outcomes.

We want to create more spaces and opportunities for connection and emotional growth.

Social-emotional learning can take place in various contexts beyond the classroom. If you have a hobby, passion or skill and would like to use it to help develop emotional awareness, we'd love to hear from you and find avenues to collaborate!

We want to share our learnings with more passionate volunteers.

Volunteers don’t have to be professional educators to be equipped to address under recognised needs - the social and emotional demands of learning.

We want to give volunteers the skillsets and confidence to understand how to work with children and become co-regulators.

We want to share our children's success stories with more parents.

We recognise that every parent comes with their own struggles and capacities in connecting with children. We want to invite parents to embark on a relational journey in knowing how to emotionally support their children while taking care of themselves.

We are creating Social and Emotional Learning Resources for parents and educators.

And we want to:

(1) work with child development specialists to curate resources that are age and developmentally appropriate for a specific child

(2) reach parents and educators who are interested in using SEL to develop children and stronger relationships with them

We are building a community of adults who can nurture motivated and resilient learners .

And we want to:

(1) work with volunteers (16 and above) who are interested in becoming better learning facilitators and support

(2) partner with social service providers who wish to activate a community of learning support for their children

(3) provide training for community volunteers in child-centric approaches and emotional development for children
